Glad to see you got this far. I havn't played with the guest option so maybe
when you find out we'll both know. What I did on My mac (under
ControlPanel-USERS & GROUPS) and PC (under PC MACLAN File
Server-Configure-Users and Groups) was to create a list of dummy users for
each computer, so I only log on with a user name, never as guest.
Originally I did try guest but I may have run into the same problem as you.

BTW I have run into a problem when sharing internet connection from Mac
through PC modem... The File Sharing between Mac and PC through LocalTalk
Bridge closes down, but only when running Sygate on my PC. Not sure if it
can run at the same time, but thought you may want to know, if you get to
that step.
