Re: Focus drive fixed, but now HFS problems

I have tried to re-partition the Focus 750M drive into 8x 32M ProDOS and 1x
~500M partition, but while I can partition it with the Focus Formatter,
after quiting, and re-booting a System floppy for the first time, I am asked
to format each volume as ProDOS or HFS. I selected ProDOS, except the last
which I attempt to format as HFS. The problem is that it will not format it
as HFS (Yes I do have HFS.FST on my boot floppy, otherwise I wouldn't get a
choice). Instead I get an I/O error $27 or something and the volume is
ejected until next boot.

If I format the last 500M partition as ProDOS, it is only seen as 32M by
GS/OS.
I also tried formatting it after I loaded System 6.0.1 onto the 1st
partition, again including HFS.FST, but it still fails to format it as a
500M HFS partition.

I tried re-partitioning it as 24x 32M ProDOS partitions, throwing away the
last 7M. Then erased a couple of the 32M partitions to HFS. This worked
fine.

I am now beginning to think that the Focus card cannot do HFS volumes unless
they are less than 32M in size. I havn't tried any sizes between 32M and
500M, so I'm not sure. Does anyone have larger than 32M partition on their
Focus drive, and if so, how did you create it ?

BTW, I used virtually the exact procedure as above for my AHS and 1.2G drive
using ADU, and I had no such problem with a large 1G HFS vol, so I am
inclined to think this is a limitation of the card. :(
