I must have been wrong with the 32 vol limit, because I just got my new 750M
drive for my focus and by default it partitioned as 25x31M vols. Perhaps 32
is the max per HDD, I seem to remember 32 in the System 6 User Manual.
Anyway, I then added it to my 1.2G SCSI system which added 8 vols + the RAM
vol giving 34, then I added an appleshare Vol and a couple of floppys
bringing it to an amazing 37 vols + the trash. then I kept adding floppys
and ejecting them until I got to about 42 before I gave up.
At bootup and for each vol that is added after the desktop is full, the
extras over 30 end up stacking in the top left corner. And interestingly if
you do a desk cleanup the are fitted in between the 1st and 2nd row, and
work down between rows, which theoretically would give you a max of 54 icons
on the desktop, a very cramped desktop at that.

Well, I didn't find it yet, and I think 42 even puts Windoze in it place at
the bottom of the ladder. Well what the hell can it do when it gets to Z !
