I don't think the ROM 01 would be the problem. I would boot a new copy of
AppleWorks off a floppy and try that for awhile. If it is stable, then the version
on the hard drive might be buggy (though that would probably crash right away).

Since it is running and crashing on a 'new' computer, then the cables and cards can
be rechecked. A bad SCSI setup can cause intermittent problems. Also make sure any
3.5 drives are before 5-1/4 drives in their chain.

I have heard it is good to boot GS/OS before running ProDOS 8 even for 8-bit
programs. This sets some things up.

I would run the built-in self test. This can spot some bad RAM and other things.
control-option-open apple-reset. Then release the reset key first.

For a business, I would have a backup computer.
