I used apples in hi-skool, but didnt get my own apple until 1987. Saw a ][+ in
the paper for $150, so I bought it. Had the books and a joystick, but no disk
drive and controller. I bought a generic controller card and a MITAC disk drive
from jameco. This ][+ also had the enhancer ][ keyboard controller so I had
upper and lower case and macros and auto repeat functions. Later, I bought AE's
viewmaster80 column card and I could run appleworks! Over the years, it would
act funny, probably due to flaky RAM chips, even though I eventually replaced
them. I still have the computer, along with many other //e and //c models.
