One can consider what Carte Blanche does an almost "native" video generation. It does not currently support the GS special modes, but for old school original A2 video it pretty much mimics the hardware or a real A2. The lines are doubled to make VGA timing out of NTSC one, but the video mode switching should (in theory) have the same effect.
If not, a better configuration of the same hardware would. -Alex.
