Ok, the card is all ok. Something is up with the drive.
What I did was try out the bootstrapping method with ADT Pro through
the audio/cassette. Everything seemed to work ok up until I tried to
format the disk. While the program saw the drive there a-ok, the
problem occurred when I tried to format several different disks. All
of them came back telling me that something was wrong with the disk or
the drive door. The drive is trying something, as it's making
different clicks and rattles before giving up. (It's not the disks,
as I've used different disks from different manufacturers and
different sources.)
The drive that I have is a Rana Systems Elite One. I figure I'll open
it up and clean it out some, and see if there is anything wrong with
it from a mechanical standpoint, hopefully it's something I can fix.
Otherwise I have to try and find a working 20-pin Disk ][ or a Unidisk
with the 20 to 19 pin cable without getting ripped off.
Thanks again guys for all your help, without you I would still be
thinking it was the card.
