Re: AppleWorks freeze?

Version 3.0 accepts dates after 2000 as part of the startup. AppleWorks 2.1 and
earlier does not. (Fixes are available.) On a IIGS, it should read today's daye
automatically.

What may be happening here is a ProDos problem. ProDos has to be upated every 7
years, and it sounds like you've crossed your 7-year limit. Get a new version
of ProDos (version 2.03 is preferred). I believe you can get that at low cost
from Eric Shepard (not sure of the details). Copy the new version of ProDos to
your AppleWorks disk, letting the new version replace the old. If you have a
IIGS, AppleWorks 3.0 should read your clock and bypass the date entry.

AppleWorks 3.0 has other Y2K problems, e-mail if you are interested. Remove
NoMail from the e-mail address.
