Re: Dirty IIc keyboard
I've found the best way to deal with a dirty //c keyboard is to first
carefully pop the keycaps off with a thin, flathead screwdriver. (The
flathead on a Swiss Army knife works great since it is wide and smooth
). Be careful with the larger keycaps as they have wire stablizers (or
whatever the correct term is) that hook to the keyboard base. (They can
be a pain to put back.)
Soak the keycaps in soapy water for an hour then use a toothbrush to
clean them. Rinse and spread them out on a towel. Allow at least 24
hours for them to dry completely.
As for the keyboard base, use a keyboard attachment to vacuum all the
crumbs, hair, etc. While you're at it you might as well vacuum the rest
of the computer. Whatever's left behind can be cleaned off using Q-Tips
slightly moistened with rubbing alcohol.
