Very lame. That's like arguing that I can post a question about cats to
alt.pets.dogs simply because people who own one pet are likely to own
another!

I've never owned a Mac. I never intend to own a Mac. No matter how you slice
it, a message predominantly about a Macintosh problem should be posted to a
Mac newsgroup. If people own both Apple ][s and Macs then they can read both
groups. That's why we have topic areas.

And since original message wasn't even properly crossposted, so who knows
whether the question was posted to *any* mac newsgroups, the reply contained
good advice to the poster.
