Re: Need Bootable Disk

I corresponded with Ken. He needs a boot disk to access Appletalk. I was
not able to find anything in the manual by Kindal on the network. But I
did find that the basic system disk in the set of 6 didn't have enough space
to add the networking software. I was lucky enough to find a reference manual
for system 6 and found that the installer will make an 800k boot disk for the
network using the install AppleShare,3.5" disk. Another section in the manual
says that the finder is not necessary which is what Ken wanted with the boot
disk. I did create the disk and there was a finder with the launch from system
6 (not 6.0.1). The disk has 745K on it and the instructions say there is space
for a printer driver. I see there are some other things that could be eliminated
like T2 or T3, SCSIHD and SCSIManager, to make more space. The instructions
said to pull the Finder file out of the system, but I couldn't find such a file
in my active system or the system 6.0.1 disks. Every folder had finder.data
in it. What creates the finder in the system?
