Netware for Macintosh has been around a long time. It allows you to share
Netware volumes as AFP volumes via AppleTalk. You can even get a LocalTalk
card for your server, if you're that sort of perverse. :) It might be
included with Netware; back in the day I ran a Netware 3.X shop with oodles
of Macs, and you had to buy it as an option then.
So, theoretically, you could either:
A) Connect your IIgs to a LocalTalk network which either
bridges to Ethernet via some device or hooks right in
to a Netware server; either way the server runs
Netware for Macintosh.
or
B) Put one of those LanceGS (or whatever they are) ethernet
cards in your IIgs. Do those run Appletalk? Never
used one myself.
You could access both Netware volumes and print queues this way (they just
show up in the Chooser like AFP or AppleTalk printers do.
Personally, I hope there's a //e workstation card in all this stuff I got at
the rescue; I would *love* to network a //e.
