It's a Win9x/NT/2K-only printer...basically, a pair of cartridges and a set
of motors, with the computer providing all the intelligence. Optras ought
to work with Apple IIs (they typically support PCL and PostScript), but
since they're mostly laser printers, they're a bit spendy. (I snagged an
Optra Color 40, which is an inkjet, from buy.com about a year ago for $100,
but that model was discontinued.) I haven't tried printing from my IIGS to
it yet, but I might give it a shot once my PhoneNet boxes arrive to hook it
to my Mac...print jobs would go from GS to Mac via LocalTalk and then from
Mac to Linux to Win2K via Ethernet.)
