Dear B,

According to my Apple ][ Super Serial Card manual some the dip switches "are
labeled OPEN and CLOSED instead of OFF and ON. OPEN is equivalent to OFF. CLOSED
is equivalent ot ON." Also make sure the triangular 'jumper block' is pointed in
the right direction for your application (up for modem; down for terminal /
printer / plotter).

I just purchased mine, so if you need any more manual info, I can look it up for
you.
