I just took a IIgs keyboard  cut all the connections between the keys and
rewired it as a IIe one.  Since they were going to be removed anyways I
used a keyboard with a faulty ADB connector.  If I was going to do this
again there are a few traces on the circuitboard I'd use instead of wires
but
at the time I thought it'd be too awkward separating the ones I needed
from
the ones I didn't want. Less likely to miss a connection that'd be hard to
find
later.  A couple hundred connections to solder but fairly strait forward.
Actually easier than making up the internal SCSI cable

Was tempted to add mini din 8 connector to the opposite side of the
keyboard
for a mouse but I wasn't willing to modify my rev 1 Kensington turbomouse
to that connector.  Since I wanted to be able to disconnect the keyboard
easily
I used a db25 connector with the casing making up the 26th connection and
the approprite adaptor inside the IIe.
