It sounds like you are using a Mac to download the files. The Mac
will make EVERYTHING a forked file! The archive files you are
trying to unshrink had no forks until the Mac touched them.
Use the UnForkIt utility available on ground, etc. to remove the
meaningless resource forks on an Apple //e or IIgs, then 8-bit
ShrinkIt will be happy to open them.
