Re: Appleworks max files?

You cannot increase the number of lines/recs/rows allowed in an AppleWorks 3.0
document. According to AppleWorks programmer Randy Brandt, doing so would cause
you to crash when the pointers for the extra lines started overwriting other
important info. You can in fact do a little better with AppleWorks 2.x and AE.

Beagle Bros never released a patch to increase these capacitiies. They did let
you decrease one of them, for speed reasons.

A patch called DoubleData increases the number of data base categories allowed
form 30 to 60. That Patch is available in the Apple II Mail Group.

If you have a very large file that you want to import into AppleWorks 3.0,
you'll have to split it in two or more parts (easy enough to do if it's a
delimited text file).

Since your description of the limits mentions the Number of words in dictionary
= 83000, it must be version 3.0. Only version 3.0 from Claris had a spell
checker. If it doesn't mention it, then it's probably v2.1. Your description
also mentions other AW 3.0 characteristics.
