That would work if the head and analog circuitry would work 30%
faster than designed to. That's what would be required to write and
read the outer zones of an 800K disk. Apple elected instead to
keep the data rate constant and vary the rotational speed (which
actually comes closer to keeping the bit density constant, as well.)
