Re: Thieves Philosophy 101
Hiya, Matthew,
*>That's right Meow Mix; the Copyright Act never says that the
*>infringment on a copyright isn't theft. Nor does it ever say it IS theft.
There are references to:
"The Digital Theft Deterrence and Copyright Damages Improvement Act of 1999, Pub.
L. No. 106-160, 113 Stat 1774, (amending chapter 5 of the United States Code to
increase statutory damages for copyright infringement), enacted December 9,
1999."
Now why they would call copyright infringement "theft" in the title of the act
will be left as an exercise to the student. ;)
Further references are:
"No Electronic Theft (NET) Act, Pub. L. No. 105-147, 111 Stat. 2678, enacted
December 16, 1997.
If you would like to search for synonyms, you may well be enlightened further.
