It would seem that part of your problem with ADTgs is that you are using
a GS program with the Super Serial card. You don't need a super serial
card in a IIGS unless you are using 8 bit software that was written
expressly for the Super Serial card. Terminal software in the old days
programed the "metal" and that's why you might very well have difficulty
using old programs with the IIGS serial ports, and IIGS software on a
Super Serial card. I'm not so sure about the 16 bit programs, did they
use the Toolbox, as they were urged to do by Apple, or did they program
the metal? Either way, it's likely that the Toolbox was written to use
the IIGS serial ports, and not the Super Serial card. Now, if only David
Empson were to read this, he might shed some light on the issue.
