: That would explain then, why you are not using the correct newsgroup. This
: newsgroup Carl, is for the Apple II, the computer that made Apple a company, and
: that paid for the development and underwrote the first three years of life for
: the Macintosh. You need to find a newsgroup with the word "mac" in it for the
: help you are looking for.

--> You're far more diplomatic than I ever was about this kind of
Mac posting. I sometimes was ready to crawl down my connection
    and throttle another Mac-only-whaddya-mean-there-was-another-apple?
post. Then I realized that any Mac user looking for answers
(and, obviously, didn't know about the venerable A2 line) would
likely do a search using the text-string "apple" and without a
bit of lurking or searching for a FAQ; would just merrily post
their question(s). I see a similar thing in the "The Prisoner"
newsgroup (an old - but brilliant - 60's TV series); well-meaning
people blindly post to any newsgroup that contains the text-string
"prisoner" to moan about some disadvantaged/innocent person (not
that their hand-wringing is/isn't about a true injustice); so
besides the spam that shows up; there's this mis-posted stuff, too.

There's little or no way to stop this from happening (dammit); so
I just bitch to my wife about usenet idiots (and, of course, feel
superior to them; even if I fit the profile sometimes as well! :-> )
