I'm a New IIGS Owner, Enlighten Me.

(Well if you want to read my near emotional story continue one, but if
you want to just answer my question GOTO <===Question===> )

Well after several months of having a 16" Apple RGB monitor sitting on
my stereo cabinet, I got anxious. I was just there and not being able
to use it with my Apple //e, I wanted a good use for it... In the past
months while looking for information on my Apple II computers, I keep
seeing posts and articles about this Apple IIgs, and rave things said
about it. Then I saw a picture of it. I fell in love instantly. It was
the computer I used back in 92 when I was in the 7th grade, in my
computer club. I loved doing the animation and programing assignments on
the computer (can't remember what that animation program was) in a nice
air conditioned Knowledge Apple Lab. We were the second most privileged
group of kids in the school, and the only ones allowed unrestricted use
of the lab (The Honor Society got to use the computers in the PC, 486's,
and one Pentium 66).

Err, right.. Yeah that computer symbolized one the few periods of my
life I was on top of the world, and happy, so I was feeling nostalgic,
and wanted one. Well they didn't sell them anymore, and they weren't
that easy to find. I was even gonna go on eBay :(. Then it just so
happens I was doing my monthly sweep of the thrift stores checking for
more ancient video games I would let pile up, and was on my way past to
the last two stops. At my next to last stop, I went in and saw all the
clothes, but I'm a nerd stuck in a blue collar job, and I don't wear
clothes. I went straight to the electronics section. Usually this has
old Packard Bells, big dot matrix printers, and old stuff. Then I
turned past a dresser and saw an ImageWriter printer. I already have one
of these hooked up to this Windows computer used with a C-Itoh driver,
to print really cheap. I looked farther, and saw a small laundry cart.
In that cart was an RGB monitor, several unopened boxes of Lotus 123,
Claris Works, some File program, and the components to a Apple IIgs!!!!!
I took the cart, hooked the stuff together, used the system disk that
was in a box with the IIgs, and it reminded me of 7th grade (when I was
almost dateable). Well I dug more in the box around the many programs,
files on disks, and I found the Apple IIgs System Disk User's Guide,
still in mint condition, and in it it had a Educators Buy Invoice,
straight from Apple computer, dated 7/11/88. It said that my computer
package was a A//GS 512k RGB w/ 3.5& 5.25 DRV, product number A2P6015.
Total in the whole box I got the computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse,
printer, software, 2 5.25 drives, a normal IIgs 3.5, and a macintosh
800k 3.5, more software, warranty cards, manuals not even opened, and my
youthful optimism back, all for $20 dollars. I think it might have been
a good buy. Well it sure beats spending it on bills..

<===Question===>

What is the best way for me to go about upgrading the memory, I've seen
people upgrading their stuff to 1 Meg, and I've seen memory cards that
said the go up to 8 megs upgradable? What do you think, good, bad?
Compatible. I need opinions. Is there more cool stuff I should add
special in. All it has now is the Memory Expansion Card, that's looking
pretty empty... Sorry I'm rambling so much, but I'm just so excited
that I got a middle school love, that I get to keep.. Laters
