Re: IIGS Modem troubleshooting --> Marinetti TCP/IP

Dear Joe!

Thanks for the init-string, and good advice. I've entered the new string
into the 'Control-Panels ---> TCP/IP --> Setup Connections /PPP-tab' and
tried to connect again!

The string seems to be communicated over to the modem, but it refuses to
respond giving the following error msg. "The link layer timed out while
awaiting a response from the hardware interface"

I've tried at different speeds from 1200,2400 to 9600 bps, but with the same
result. I've tested a different cable, which I using for null-modem ADT
transfer, but with the same result occuring.

The USR Courier modem is firmware-upgraded, and shows up as "Courer
V.Everything EXT (V90&X2)" in Windows ME 'System Properties' Tab.

The ISP-provider uses a simple PPP-connection for analogue modem users, and
there should not be a need for scripted PPP. But, I need the modem to
connect first in order to check this!
