Yes it is, especially when it takes 10 minutes or so to move 17K.....
What I'm looking for is move of a solution where I can make a Makefile
target called "xfer" that will transfer my binary to the Apple II, so I
could do a 'make all; make xfer', and I would also want to type the
smallest amount of keystrokes on the Apple II to get the receiving
program up and running. 'IN#2' seemed like a good idea until I
benchmarked it...

What communication software will run well on a 1 MHz Apple IIe and a
normal ROM 1 IIgs? For now, I'd prefer something that runs Dos 3.3, but
later I will want to use ProDOS as well. I'm assuming that on the Unix
end, I can get away with using 'sx', 'sy', or 'sz' to do X,Y,Z modem
sends. What should I run on the Apple II side?

The three most dangerous things are a programmer with a soldering
iron, a manager who codes, and a user who gets ideas.
