If you are printing from GS/OS, you can use almost any
Appletalk-compatible PostScript printer, though you need the Appletalk drivers
installed which involves some memory overhead.  For a time I was printing
to an HP DeskJet 1600C which worked more-or-less fine with a LaserWriter
printer driver.  HP's version of PostScript has some problems that made it
so I couldn't print shading, but other than that it worked pretty well. 
Then The Powers That Be replaced that printer with the HP DeskJet 2000C,
which doesn't have AppleTalk, so now I'm back to the ImageWriter II if I
want to print from the GS here.....
