The openings at the back of the GS and platinum E are big enough for a side
mounted rj45 jack. As a matter of fact, on the db25 sized openings, he would
probably have room for all 4 of the LEDs, in addition to the rj45. It is
concievable that even a combo card, such as those 10baseT/10base2 cards in
the pc world, would have room for both rj45 and BNC, with room left over for
LEDs, especially the doubledecker LEDs.
I'm not just complaining here, I've been trying to come up with an ideal
solution to the same thing myself. True, quite a few places want an
outrageous sum for metal brackets, they've quoted me as high as $350 for 30
pieces. But there have been more than a few smaller shops with the CNC
machines, that are quoting prices in the $80 to $100 range for just as many.
To show I'm a good sport about such things, email me some accurate
dimensions of this "dongle", and I'll see if we can't get a decent bracket
made. Oh, don't forget to include whether you want it for the db25 or the
db19 sized openings.
