Resolution ][ Progress

Hi all,

I've been doing quite a bit of work with Resolution ][ since I released
Version 1.0 a couple of weeks ago. I rewrote the pixel drawing routines
to improve pixel drawing speed by looking up color values from a table
instead of performing direct color calculations. I added support for
toggling monochrome pixels in addition to writing and erasing pixels.
Filling the graphics display is now a simple process of filling each row
from top to bottom. This method removes the ugly visual animation
produced by the previous method of filling the display.

Perhaps the biggest news is the improved AppleSoft BASIC interface for
Resolution ][. I discovered how to read BASIC variables from
machine-language code and now I'm implementing a command interface which
will be easier to use from a BASIC program than the POKE, PEEK and CALL
commands.

Resolution ][ Version 1.1, which will implement all these features,
should be due hopefully by the end of the year.

Unfortunately, I still can't handle ShrinkIt archives. I won't be able
to provide ShrinkIt packages until I can get ShrinkIt working properly
on my Apple ][.

Thanks,
