Funny thing, my iMac now recognizes all CD Roms as ProDOS volumes and wants to reformat them!

Funny thing, my iMac now recognizes all CD Roms as ProDOS volumes and wants to
reformat them!  It's really bummed out that the CD's are all locked.

I'd post this to a mac group, but then I'd probably have to explain ProDOS and
that there were Apple computers before macs, someone would get mad, flame wars
would develop, then drive by shootings, people would start digging up deceased
relatives and hiding them, ...

That's just too crazy for me, so I thought that I'd avoid WWIII and ask how to
fix it here first.
