Ah, but the same might happen here, because this posting is not
on-topic!  :-)

I'd suggest starting by disabling the Foreign File Access extension and
see what effect this has.  (This extension provides ProDOS support.)

You might also like to try recopying this extension and/or the Apple
CD/DVD driver from the disk image on your Software Restore CD (assuming
you haven't upgraded the operating system since you got the machine).

I'd suggest E-Mail me rather than posting here if you want to discuss
this further, or go to a Mac newsgroup and tough it out.
