In most respects, using IIgs 320 and 640 mode super-res is a good deal
easier than regular hires or double-hires because super-res displays are
usually mapped linearly. The Apple IIgs Hardware Reference has the basic info
you need for direct use of super-res. (By "direct use" I mean moving around
pic and palette data, turning super-res On/Off, etc. via simple machine code
routines.)
Using super-res displays and windows in Pascal, C, and Assem programs
via toolbox routines is the main focus of the book: Programmer's Introduction
to the Apple IIgs.

There are two good 65C816 books:
Programming the 65816 Including the 6502, 65C02, and 65802
by David Eyes and Ron Lichty
65816/65802 Assembly Language Programming by Michael Fischer
You can probably find both via amazon.com.
