}I've heard of quite a few amazing hardware hacks before, so I wouldn't be so
}quick to deny the possibility. But the surface mount chip kinda kills the
}idea, doesn't it? Shame.

There is such a thing surface mount rework station. That part is
easier than trying to reverse engineer the chip in the first place.
