Perhaps it's a disk copy protection? That could explain both problems. I
know with Deluxe Paint II you can copy all the files off the disk, but the
very last block on the disk is unreadable by normal means. When you run the
program it checks this block to make sure you're using an original disk.
Fortunately with DPII there is a very simple hack which bypasses the check.
The copy protection could also stop it running on an LC if it relies on
certain hardware. Are these 5.25" or 3.5" disks? If 3.5", you may need to
use a UniDisk 3.5 drive plugged into the IIe card.
