a good idea and hey, when will you understand me?
hey,
why hasn't anybody understood me?! i don't want all the software to
become PD! i just want older versions of different programs(and games)
to become PD if they can't be sold any more. or let's say it other way.
if you haven't written a newer version of a software for 10-15 years
then this should mean you aren't interested in this software any more.
so it must become PD. you won't have to share it's sources, but you'll
have to let people use it freely.
another idea- if a company hasn't written anything for a specific
platform for more then 5-10 years it's software for the platform
becomes a PD according to the same rules. it'll be ok for the companies
and it'll be ok for us. and don't forget. the software will become a PD
for a specific platform only.
does anybody think we can take any steps for that? i'm not good in
privacy laws, but i know old books become a PD in certain time. old
music records become a PD, too. so why don't we try to make them write
such rules for old software?
if anybody has any ideas, please feel confortable to contact me at\
