Re: Building An Apple ][ Software Archive
Hi Joe,
I know you have lots on your shareware CD's. Until recently, this method
would have helped me little since the transfer through the PC would not
have been worth the trouble. I now have this neat Apple CD on my GS and
will consider your treasure trove when time and money allows. BTW, I
tried the URL, but it didn't connect. Maybe the net was busy so I'll try
again later.
However, my point here is regarding a ton of older software which is PD
(or was) and could be freely distributed on the net. I had a email reply
that questioned the usefulness of this software to which I must say, many
new users can gain some useful insights into the system. Yes, it may
require 'getting down to the metal' but this is what the II experience is
about. At least it was for me. I still enjoy tinkering around with some of
the old Dos stuff I have. Much of it is useful in understanding some of
the finer points of Applesoft and the 8 bit II's in general.

Thank you for your time and interest. I hope it was helpful
or at least interesting.
