There are some of us (maybe most) who agree in principle with what the
Theusch Family is trying to say, about bringing peace to this group but it's
not likely happen -not without some kind of moderation. Since that's not
going to happen, all you can do is try to ignore the people that you don't
agree with, or filter them. The filter works well but some people will do
anything to be heard -even switch email accounts.
You may have noticed, when you were reading all those postings, that there's
really only a few people in this group who consistently insult or ridicule
everyone else. QC is to much of a joke to even take seriously but the other
people occasionally mix good information in with their trash talk, so
whether or not to filter them is up to you.
I'm in favor of bringing Asimov back but I would rather it was done in a way
that would make it more protected from that small group of complainers. If
you bring it back online, especially on xoom, someone will email them and
complain, and xoom will shut it back down again. I would be willing to help
move it to a private FTP site that the distressed folks can't get to, and
thus can't shut down. Who do they complain to if they don't know where it
is? Screw 'em. Give them the filter twice.
