Welcome.

The mouse plugs into the keyboard.  If you give me your address I can send
you a disk that came with the computer called "Tour of the IIGS".  Among
other things it has a fun tutorial that shows you how to use the mouse and  
practice using.  There is a system self test.  You can activate it in two
ways.  With power on press the open apple, control and option keys and
press and release the reset key (the one at the top of the keyboard with
the triangle on it).  Or if the power is off hold down the command and
option keys while turning the power on.  

This machine wont use Mac software.  It can use some Mac hardware like the
high speed modems.
