You can use ADT v1.22 to transfer 5.25" .dsk disk images from PC to your
Apple II. ADT consists of a PC part and an Apple II part (which you can
transfer to the Apple II without having a telecom program). Directions are
included in the Adt122.zip file. You can find ADT v1.22 on USA2WUG at
http://www.grin.net/~cturley/USA2WUG/Utilities/ . For more info about ADT,
see http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2T1TCOM.html#003 .

Ground maintains a good collection of utility disk images at
ftp://ground.ecn.uiowa.edu/apple2/useful.stuff/Disks/ and each is described
in a Text file. One of these disks will let you run a telecom program named
"ZLink". Another image, named "PDTCOM.dsk", has a basic telecom program along
with several good telecom-related utilities.

So, the idea is to get ADT going in order to get disks with programs
that let you do more general NULL modem transfers. ADT transfers only disk
images. A program like ZLink can 'talk' with Hyperterm on the PC and transfer
all kinds of files. The big advantage of the more general NULL modem
connection is that you can transfer .shk and .sdk ShrinkIt files. (For info
on ShrinkIt, see http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2FLUTILS.html#002 .)
