I think the "props" should actually go to Richard Bennett on this. But
thanks for sharing the info, Mark (I was just about to post this
myself--you saved me the trouble.)
I think Richard has done a great service to the IIgs community through
this gesture. Ultimately it will lead to the various Ethernet card
projects actually being *useful.* I mean, what good is an Ethernet card
that can't communicate with the outside world.
It also means that all the various cards will (hopefully) be accessible
through the same interface. That will be a boon to developers and users
alike.
Plus...IMHO the Apple II world could use a glimpse into the open source
world. It could show us what is possible and result in more open source
software becoming available. FWIW, anything I write (once I get around
to it) will be completely open source. I hope others follow Richard's
lead, as well.
This may get me going on my stalled, to-be-open-sourced, FTP application
again...
