I purchased my Laser 128 in 1986 or 1987 from Central Point, which
included a copy of their popular Copy II Plus software program. The
Laser had a small panel on the bottom where you could swap out the
roms with "improved" versions. I only remember being offered one
upgrade for $25. It was a great computer for a college kid with too
little money for a real Apple.
