Apple IIGS newbie
I have an Apple IIGS computer here that I am trying to make
functional for a friend. (Read, save from the landfill)
Unfortunately her original System disk no longer boots in the 3.5
drive. I have sucessfully booted it with a DOS 3.3 disk from my
Apple II in its 5.25 drive. The 3.5 drive is functional as it
will boot a PrintShop disk with ProDos 1.4 on it, but I have been
unable to figure out how to exit the program and find the
ProDos. It seems that DOS 3.3 can't see a 3.5 drive.
I have upgraded its memory from 512K to the max 1280K available
on the 1 meg expansion, and I was hoping to create a System 5.04
disk to get this impressive old machine going.
My only internet access is via a (gag) Windows based PC. I have a
Macintosh Classic that can read files written out on the 1.44
drive from the PC, and the 3.5 GS drive works well with the
Macintosh also. So my question is, what is the best method to
create a GS readable 3.5 disc using the above equipment?
