I appreciate your confidence. However I'd be afraid to draft new
copyright laws myself. It would be a terrible responsibility to balance
the rights of the creators with that of the public. A referendum would
be necessary for a fair solution. Unfortunately, few people care about
copyright law.

Disney is indeed powerful but even they have limits. It would not be
good PR for them if the public were made aware of how they're tampering
with copyright law.

And it will persist in being so as long as most people ignore it. How
are our elected officials supposed to represent us if we don't
participate?

Perilous. Even benevolent dictatorships leave much to be desired.

Don't let the bad apples fool you. Congress is not as inept as it may
appear.

BTW, I'm really a fence sitter.
