Re: vogons vs Users

Hiya, Bob!

*>Anti-pirates "You should find software in the used market
or go without it"

Who are you quoting here? Some straw man?

First, you've over-simplified it so much that it no longer
makes a valid analogy.

There are hundreds of megabytes of legally released software,
freeware and shareware out there for the Apple II. You would
not have to search very far to find legal means to fulfill
your mythical task.

*>If you follow your own opinions, the Bernie site would not
offer ROM
*>download from its site! You should transfer the ROM image
from your IIgs to
 *>your macintosh.

Well, you do have a point here. It's NOT downloadable from
the Bernie site per se (lordy! I'm turning Rubyesque!),
since the link points offsite and that site is down.

Now where is that newspaper?.. (*rolls it up to swat Bernie*)

*>"its too hard, takes too much time". Yeah, finding used
software is hard to
*>find and takes alot of time. Big deal.

Again... WTF are you quoting? And what's your point? It
seems to have evaporated.

*>When it suits your purpose it is ok to pirate, but if
others do it and you
*>don't agreee with their purpose, it is not.

Bob.... It's -ILLEGAL- to pirate. It's against the law. The
Copyright owner has rights protecting his property should he/
her choose to press the matter.

This straw man "you" have created would indeed be a pirate.
As blatant and disgusting as your typical Turlette? No.

*>Downloading copyrighted software AND ROM images is
illegal. Pirates!

The light has come on? You haven't fallen for RosyWanker's
Lie? Cool!

But if you think us vogons are going to cringe while you
pound on your little straw man, you have another thing to
think about.

Copying ROMS from machines you don't own is illegal. But to
equate a one time download with the blatant and unrepentant
distribution of hundreds of megs of commercial software is
quite a long stretch. But you Turlettes have lots of
practice stretching the truth. ;)
