Paul Guertin's ADT has kind of blossomed as _The_ 'from scratch'
solution to getting software from the net. Paul Schlyter's mods to allow
using ADT (ADT.CC) with 8-bit Apple II's having non-SSC interfaces was a very
nice expansion.

ProSel would be interesting.
