Piracy is not just a software problem.  Software, movies, music, writings, art,
and other media suffer protected by inept "solutions" such as hopeless attempts
at copy protection and putting obscenely flagrant pirates in jail.

Basically, ordinary people are on their honor.  And that's the whole problem! 
Well it will be until media companies finally get their way and turn all our
PCs into dumb machines and force us to rent media on a per use basis.

Why?  Because, media companies are very, very tired of piracy.  Why?  No,
silly, not because it's illegal.  Oh no, it's far, far worse than that.  Piracy
costs them MONEY!!!

Don't think it will happen?  Like Wednesday's response in the second Addams'
Family Movie to someone taunting her that her clothes were fit for a funeral
yet no one had died, "Wait."

P. S. S.  And before a few of you get all bent out of shape, I happen to be a
programmer.  Piracy affects my fellow programming buddies and I in some way;
so, don't even get on my case!
