The driving force behind the web. In many ways, it is much
closer than people think. There are already programs which
test these methods. The only real problem right now is the
lack of a decent connection speed for everyone. DSL doesn't
cut it, it's only available close to the company. ISDN
suffers from a similar failure (at least in rural areas) as well
as somewhat limited access rates. Cable modems may be the answer
once companies improve the sharing problems. Satellites may be
the way to go also, once we have designed a two way connection
from individual locations.

So far we are still lucky and can enjoy the use of real
computers, but eventually the world will follow the
distributed processor methods and not only will we share
data from a centralized site but probably processing
capabilities and resources as well. I'm a die hard fan of
personal computer systems and hope this time is still far
away. I enjoy my various personal computer systems. I am
realistic enough to know it will happen eventually. Logically,
it is one of the most efficient methods to use and will
probably revolutionize man's use of information (again!)
