Re: A2 Trade/Swap ... site ...

Perhaps I was thinking from a larger point of view. At some
point in the (near?) future our systems will be primarily
terminals and we shall have accounts which we can access
from anywhere. I'm sure that there will be pay per use
systems as well as pay once systems. Either one will be
difficult to pirate and without authorization, you will
not be able to access them. I expect such a thing will be
so commonplace and powerful that PC system technology will
seem antiquated by comparison.

I doubt this will be a system that puts us at a disadvantage
though. After all, it would be in the best interest to allow
us some sort of standard access. From there we can branch to
larger (pay per) application needs. I also see this system as
one much more seamless than today's WWW and internet. In fact
it will probably incorporate the net's features and
functionality for much of it's primary backbone.

Of course, this is just my personal vision and lacks the
insight of many of the current thinkers and designers of
the industry, and last, but not least, we must consider the
corporations which fund the growth of our computing systems.
As long as we don't give them complete control, we should
do fine.
