Then how come the Apple II and the IBM PC both were cloned ????
 
And what about pirate phone cards, pay-TV decoders, etc ???

Of course hardware can be pirated.  Yes, it's a little bit harder
than just typing "copy" (or doing a few mouse clicks), but it can be done.
