We agree that the Apple II end of line marker on an Apple II is a
carriage return only.
What the end of line marker is on an FTP site is dependent on what
operating system the FTP site is using. The only time the FTP site's
version should have carriage returns as the end of line marker is when
they are on a Mac FTP server (or an Apple II FTP server but none exist
yet). All other servers that I'm aware of will use carriage
return/line feed or just line feed.
