problem with european fonts with OS9

I`ve got Mac OS9.04 german version and a Lexmark Optra Printer!.

Printing the german letters "ï¿½ ï¿½ ï¿½" in Arial is impossible, they appear
on the screen, but not on th printer.
Printing with antother font works!

Does anyone know this symptom?
