This is wrong.  Microsoft makes most of the money off
Windows.  Specificially, OEM sales to PC manufacturers
who install Windows before shipping the hardware.  Office
often gets thrown in free.

Microsoft made Office for the same reason it made
Explorer.  It made these softwares to kill competition and
bundled them with the OS so that the competition had
very little chance to compete!

You may be looking at it from a Mac user's point of view.
In the Macintosh world, Office might actually be quite
profitable for Windows BECAUSE it is the standard in the
PC world so like it or not, many Mac users depend on it.

Why else would Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer
be more popular ON THE MAC than Corel Office and
Netscape?  It is not that they are better for sure!
